Assistant Director needed in Stuart FL

First United Methodist Preschool of Stuart (FUMPS) is currently seeking to fill the position of a full time Assistant Director. FUMPS has been a part of the community for over 40 years. Our Preschool emphasizes a way of living that recognizes God as the source of all life. Because we know God loves us and communicates His love through the person of Jesus Christ, we minister to families, not just children. FUMPS is accredited by the United Methodist Association of Preschools. We are licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families and have achieved the gold seal. We use Conscious Discipline which is a positively directed discipline method with the context of a consistent daily routine. The Assistant Director (AD) will assist the Preschool Director with day to day operations as needed. The AD will keep necessary records as it pertains to child registration, attendance, tuition payments, and collection of delinquent payments. The AD will have the responsibility of implementing church and school policies and procedures. This person will organize special activities and programs throughout the year such as VPK graduation, Open House, Reading programs and other special events. The Assistant Director will continue and build on the relationship between the church and the Preschool. Some administrative work such as answer phones, filing and supply orders will be expected. The AD will assist and accept responsibility in other daily preschool duties that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available. The Assistant Director will ensure that all properly mandated licensing is current for the school and staff. The ideal candidate will be passionate about children and early childhood education that is faith based. Must be organized, a self-starter with attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Must possess strong computer skills in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with ProCare and Tuition Express a plus. Candidate preferred to have Bachelor’s Degree. Must have current CDA and Director’s Credentials as required by the state of Florida. Candidate must pass background check as required by Safe Sanctuary guidelines.
